The Nature of Myasthenia Gravis

Abstract
The synthesis of acetylcholine from minced rat brain in Locke soln. was studied in the presence of (1) thymic tissue obtained from a patient who died from myasthenia gravis, and (2) of serum from 6 patients with myasthenia. No significant differences in the amt. of synthesized acetylcholine were obtained whether or not thymus or serum from myasthenia patients were added to the medium. Moreover, there were no significant differences in the amts. of acetycholine formed in Locke soln. and in human serum.
