Abstract
Using a semiclassical method, the author has derived a formula to give the transition probability between two electronic states of a colliding two-atom or molecule system. He has not imposed severe restrictions on either the form of the diabatic potentials or the time dependence of the relative motion of the particles. The difficulties of the Landau-Zener-Stueckelberg formula are removed. Keywords
