Abstract
Normal [female] mice were more sensitive than [male][male] to anterior pituitary prep. (A.P.P.) by a proportion of 1.4 to 1. For assay it was best to administer single doses of unknown and standard extract and to determine the liver fat 7 hrs. later, the animals being fasted during this period. The level of fat in the livers after injs. increased slightly as the temp. was lowered over a wide range. The A.P.P. produced a "glycotropic" as well as a "glycostatic" effect. Six hrs. after the inj. of A.P.P. the dose of insulin necessary to produce convulsions in injected mice was much greater than in the controls. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
