Abstract
Careful examination of individual absorption peaks in the low-temperature magnetoabsorption spectra of InSb and germanium reveal fine structure attributable to excitons. This confirms theoretical predictions concerning excitons in a high magnetic field and provides a means of experimentally determining the role of excitons in the analysis of the magnetoabsorption spectra for band parameters and for polaron effects. Keywords
