INVITRO SUSCEPTIBILITY OF MYCOBACTERIUM-FORTUITUM AND MYCOBACTERIUM-CHELONEI TO SISOMICIN, GENTAMICIN AND TOBRAMYCIN

Abstract

The in vitro activity of sisomicin, gentamicin and tobramycin against 62 strains of M. fortuitum and 20 strains of M. chelonei was investigated. At a drug concentration of 4 .mu.g/ml, 31, 31 and 11%, respectively, of M. fortuitum strains and 90, 25 and 15%, respectively, of M. chelonei strains, were inhibited.
