PNEUMONIA ASSOCIATED WITH PREGNANCY

Abstract
Pneumonia is one of the rare complications of pregnancy (15 cases among 15,000 obstetrical patients): 10 of the 15 had common colds before the onset of pneumonias. Apparently, there is no alteration in mortality in the presence of pregnancy. Most patients tend to go into labor early and this frequently of short duration. If the infant has sufficient size and age, it will usually live. Adequate treatment of all common colds among pregnant women is advised. There is no change in the management of pneumonia in pregnancy.
