Abstract
An apparatus is described suitable for the cultivation of 15-liter lots of members of the genus Brucella utilizing aeration through Mandler filters. The importance of aeration as distinguished from mechanical agitation was demonstrated. Addition of 10% by volume of CO2 was neither necessary nor beneficial. Maintenance of virulence and the smooth form of the organism was accomplished with the aid of 10% dextrin. Keywords
