Abstract
A method of thiolation of proteins is given in which protein amino groups react with the insoluble silver complex formed from Ag+ and N-acetylhomocysteine thiolacetone (AHTL) under appropriate conditions. Special advantages of this method are emphasized and the properties of thiolated gelatins and their disulfide derivates are discussed. Keywords
