PROBLEMS IN INVERTEBRATE ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY

Abstract
The present paper undertakes to summarize the present state of knowledge in 4 of the important fields of application of electrophysiologic methods: the comparative study of synaptic mechanisms, physiologic neuronography[long dash]which has been applied especially to giant nerve fiber systems; the phenomenon of spontaneous central activity; and the identification and analysis of sensory structures. In each case, particular attention is directed to problems and opportunities for further investigation.
