Groups with Relatives of Dependent Older Adults

Abstract
This article discusses work with small groups of care-taking relatives of frail, dependent older adults. It considers repetitive themes of concern expressed by the caregivers and their dependent relatives and some of the changes in attitudes and approaches of participants during and after the groups' experiences. The report is based on tape recordings of sessions, analyses of observed processes, content and effect, and a before-and-after measure of participant responses.
