Domain wall velocity during magnetic bubble collapse

Abstract
Measurements of magnetic bubble collapse in a high mobility Lu Gd epitaxial garnet film have exhibited very high velocities when the bias field is made to approach the collapse field. A prominent peak in the velocity rising to ∠10,000 cm/sec is interpreted in terms of Walker breakdown. The data also imply the existence of a characteristic time for dynamic conversion to occur. This time is ∠10 nsec for our sample.
