Abstract
The charge‐transfer spectra of MnCl2, FeCl2, CoCl2, and NiCl2 molecules isolated in argon matrices near 4.2°K have been measured. The results are consistent with the d‐configuration ground states , , , and deduced in earlier work from gas‐phase Laporte‐forbidden absorption spectra of these molecules.
