Abstract
The odontoblasts do not form the dentin. They furnish only the fibrils, thus keeping open a drainage system (the tubules) for the circulation of tissue fluid to the tufts which fix the enamel to the dentin. Without moistening of these fixing fibres, the enamel detaches from the dentin (hereditary opalescent dentin). Keywords
