The Incidence of Coccidia, Heartworms, and Intestinal Helminths in Dogs and Cats in Northern New Jersey

Abstract
Data are presented on the incidence of coccidia, heartworms, and intestinal helminths in 100 cats and 55 dogs in n. New Jersey. 85.5% of the dogs and 68% of the cats harbored either helminth or protozoan parasites. Trichuris vulpis was found in more dogs than any other parasite, whereas over half the number of parasitized cats were infected with ascarids.
