A. freeborni was more susceptible than A. quadrimaculatus to infection with P. cynomolgi. Transmission was accomplished in many instances. Very heavy infections are sometimes obtained. A. freeborni was also shown to be susceptible to P. inui, but the degree of susceptibility was not determined.
