Abstract
The new compounds SrAl2Te4, SrGa2Te4, SrIn2Te4, BaAl2Te4, BaGa2Te4, BaIn2Te4, Ba7Al6Te16, NaInTe2 and KInTe2 have been prepared by melting together stoichiometric amounts of the elements. All compounds crystallize tetragonal in variants of the TlSe- (B 13) -structure. SrAl2Te4: α = 8.25 Å, c = 6.72 Å ( ± 0.02 Å) SrGa2Te4: α = 8.21 Å, c = 6.75 Å ( ± 0.02 Å) SrIn2Te4: α = 8.27 Å, c = 7.22 Å ( ± 0.02 Å) BaAl2Te4: α = 8.50 Å, c = 6.72 Å ( ± 0.02 Å) BaGa2Te4: α = 8.42 Å, c = 6.78 Å ( ± 0.02 Å) BaIn2Te4: α = 8.44 Å, c = 7.20 Å ( ± 0.02 Å) NaInTe2: α = 8.33 Å, c = 7.27 Å ( ± 0.02 A) KInTe2: α = 8.52 Å, c = 7.39 Å ( ± 0.02 A) Ba7Al6Te16: α = 34.24 Å, c = 6.70 Å ( ± 0.02 Å) (=4 × 8.57 Å),
