Abstract
A generally applicable gauge-invariant renormalization transformation is proposed for the study of lattice gauge theories. Practical calculations can be carried out with use of Monte Carlo computer simulations. The power and efficiency of this approach is demonstrated by explicit calculations for the lattice gauge theory in three dimensions.
