Abstract
Early obser-vations on rotation of the heart made on a series of human embryos revealed that the anterior interventricular sulcus is displaced toward the left and the heart assumes a position with the plane of the septa at an angle of about 45[degree] to the median plane after 4 1/2 months. Sections were prepared of the adult thorax at different angles and are fully described and illustrated.
