Abstract
Part I. The stability of certain types of “one-dimensional” steady flow in an unlimited viscous fluid has been investigated by the method of “small oscillations.” The general result is obtained that the velocity of the oscillations (in the direction of motion of the main flow) is equal to the velocity of the main flow at the point of inflexion of the laminar velocity profile. Keywords
