Possible Linkage between the Major Histocompatibility Complex and the Immune Response to Factor VIII in Classic Haemophilia

Abstract
The pattern of HLA segregation was analyzed in 10 sibships of hemophilia A patients, each of which included 1 or 2 hemophilic brothers with an antibody to factor VIII. The observed HLA distribution is suggestive of a linkage between the major histocompatibility complex and a gene responsible for immune response to isologous factor VIII.
