Abstract
The corrections from multiple scattering of the photoproduced meson to the usual impulse approximation to the elastic photoproduction cross section for neutral mesons in deuterium have been computed. The result obtained for gamma-ray energies of 285 Mev and 345 Mev is a depression of the cross section of about a factor of two at all angles and at both energies. This is in qualitative accord with experiment. Keywords
