Genetics of the Lp Serum Types: Associations and Linkage Relations

Abstract

In 94 families with 305 children, association and linkage relations of the Lp system with other genetic systems are examined. Factors A, A1, B, M, N, S, C, c, D, E, e, Le(a), Lu(a), P, Fy(a), K, Jk(a), Gm(a), Gm(r), Gm(x), Gm(b) are considered, along with Hp and Gc types. No significant evidence of association or linkage was found. For some of the relationships there was, however, such paucity of information that even rather close linkage could not be excluded. The desirability of further data is apparent.
