Abstract
A detailed description is presented of the technique of the laparoscopic mini-appendectomy. It is described how, after extensive laparoscopic exploration of the abdomen, the appendix is extracted through a second insertion in the right lower quadrant and subsequently skelettized and doubly ligated. Reposition of the residual stump after coagulation is carried out. Practically no complications have been encountered. In 265 of 320 patients (83%) the mini-technique proved possible. The first 2 years were reviewed: 80 of 105 patients (76%) remained symptom free and 12 almost so after 4–5 years. 13 patients retained their complaints and got further examinations and therapies. Keywords
