Abstract

"Classical conditioning in the pigeon was studied in two experiments with lightonset as the CS, shock as the US. The apparatus employed provided an object measure of the general activity evoked by the CS. Reliable acquisition and extinction functions were obtained, but no substantial evidence appeared of increased resistance to extinction following partial reinforcement."
