Studies on Delayed (Cellular) Hypersensitivity in Mice Infected with Trichinella spiralis. II. Transfer of Peritoneal Exudate Cells

Abstract
In this second series of experi-ments it was demonstrated, under certain specified conditions, that peritoneal exudate cells removed from donors infected with T. spiralis and transferred to normal recipients caused a significant accelerated effect in removing adult worms from a challenging infection. While these results must be confirmed and more data must be obtained for proof, the evidence permits the tentative hypothesis that in some way delayed hypersensitivity is involved in the mechanism that brings about the expulsion of adult worms.
