Abstract
There are a number of issues and challenges which must be met if organizational development (OD) is to emerge as a relevant and useful discipline for practicing managers. Laboratory method and technology must expand. OD as a recognized profession must develop a specialized body of knowledge and formalized methods for training and certifying future practitioners. These and other issues are discussed as well as approaches to deal with loosely-structured systems. Keywords
