Abstract
Experiments in which an attempt was made to determine the hepatic blood flow by means of ethanol are reported. In addition, the ethanol concentration in the hepatic veins was studied by means of catheterization of one of these veins. The experiments suggest that extrahepatic ethanol metabolism of the order of 20 mg/min. occurs, but it has not as yet been possible to demonstrate in which tissues this metabolism takes place. Keywords
