Second-Neighbor Exchange Integral in EuS

Abstract

Experimental measurements of the specific heat of EuS in the temperature region 1-4°K have been analyzed to determine the first- and second-neighbor exchange integrals. The results are: $J_1=(1.48\mathrm{}\pm 0.16)\times {10}^{-5\mathrm{}}$ eV; $J_2=(-0.11\mathrm{}\pm 0.28)\times {10}^{-5\mathrm{}}$ eV.
