Treatment of Neutron-Proton Pairing Correlations

Abstract

The short-range correlation between neutrons and protons in the configuration ${\mathrm{}\left(j\right)\mathrm{}}^N$ is discussed in the BCS approximation. The interaction is assumed to exist only in the $J=0\mathrm{}$ and $T=1\mathrm{}$ state of two nucleons. The ground- and excited-state energies are calculated and compared with the exact values.
