What Parents of the Learning Disabled Really Want from Professionals

Abstract
Teachers, psychologists, and physicians frequently discuss with parents the numerous concerns related to the learning disabled child. Seldom, however, are parents provided the opportunity to advise these professionals as to whether the information they receive is adequate. Consequently, the professionals seldom know what it is parents most want to know. This survey provides an answer for teachers, psychologists, and physicians as to what parents most want to know from each profession and includes suggestions for interacting more effectively with parents of learning disabled children.—G.M.S.
