Letter: Quantitative localization of cyclic nucleotides in cerebellar folia.

Abstract
Highly sensitive radioimmunoassays were used to analyze freeze-dried tissue samples. With these methods cyclic[c]AMP and cGMP were measured in individual layers of cerebellar folia from mice. Measurement of cGMP in regions of cerebellar folia revealed that its level in the molecular layer was 8.7 pmol/mg protein, twice as high as that in the granular layer and 5 times greater than the concentration in white matter. In contrast cAMP was highest (10.7 pmol/mg protein) in the granular layer.
