Abstract
Preparations of highly purified [alpha]-MSH were studied for ACTH activity in vivo and in vitro. They showed ACTH activity by both procedures, whereas [beta]-MSH was inactive. It was suggested that the "active core" of ACTH molecule may be no more than the tridecapeptide from the N-terminus.Keywords
