Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 55-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of jaundice. He was well until 10 months earlier, when he noticed the onset of malaise. Eight months before admission he observed that his eyes were yellow. A physician made a diagnosis of hepatitis, and the patient discontinued his moderate intake of alcohol but did not improve. Six months before entry the malaise worsened. Two months before admission he entered another hospital, where an ultrasound study of the liver showed that the intrahepatic bile ducts were dilated and the wall of the gallbladder appeared thickened (Fig. 1); no . . .Keywords
