Delayed Neutrons from Thorium

Abstract
Thorium has been irradiated with fast neutrons from the reaction Li(d,n). The half-lives of the delayed neutron activities were found to be: 55.6, 22.0, 4.5, 1.5, and 0.13 seconds with initial relative saturation intensities of 0.279, 1.00, 2.00, 1.83, and 1.75, respectively. The intensity of the 55.6 second activity relative to the 22.0 second activity was found to be 1.76 times greater for thorium fission than for uranium fission.
