Abstract
Fractionation of a saline extract of ipecacuanha with ammonium sulfate and acetone permitted the isolation of a fraction which gave specific skin reaction in man in high dilutions (0.02 mcg) and which was identified as a glycoprotein mixture of 10.3% N content and 8.5% combined carbohydrate. Electrophoretically the fraction is polydisperse and has an average molecular weight of 35 - 40,000.Keywords
