Analysis of characteristics of fixation reflex in infants by use of direct current electrooculography

Abstract
Increase in amplitude and in frequency of refixations characterized the following movements of newborn infants and infants to 6 months of age as compared with the adults. The greatest decrease in amplitude occurred during the first 10 days of life; thereafter a gradual decrease occurred. The frequency of refixations appeared to decrease more gradually. Conjugation was good from the 1st day of life.
