Abstract
Serum cholinesterase activity in patients with liver damage is depressed below normal levels. The regeneration rates of this enzyme were studied in normal individuals and in patients with liver damage by detn. of cholinesterase activity of serum after a single dose of di-isopropyl fluorophosphate (2 mg.). The rate of regeneration in patients with liver damage is significantly lower than in normal subjects. These data constitute further evidence that the primary site of serum cholinesterase formation is the liver. Keywords
