Abstract
Carbolic acid injected directly into the ovarian bursa of twenty-one adult female rats greatly reduced the total number of oocytes in the ovaries. The germinal epithelium was usually hyperplastic, although mitoses were not seen. The problem of post-pubertal oogenesis is discussed in the light of the present findings. Keywords
