Measurements of integral total cross sections for CsF on Ar, Kr, Xe

Abstract
The velocity dependence of integral total cross sections for CsF in collisions with Ar, Kr, Xe has been measured in three different experiments to investigate the power of the radial dependence of the attractive part of the potential V(R)=-C/Rs. These experiments provide the first direct experimental confirmation of the expected s=6 power law for scattering of alkali-halides on rare gases.
