Abstract
The effects of exposure to pollutants on the development of Rana pipiens and Xenopus laevis embryos and larvae are described. Compounds evaluated include N-phenyl-alpha-naphthylamine, octyl-phenyl-alpha-naphthylamine, dioctyldiphenylamine, hydrazine sulfate, methylhydrazine, unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine, and symmetrical dimethylhydrazine. Experiments focused on determination of lethal, teratogenic, and no effect levels of exposure. Techniques for exposing amphibian embryos and larvae to pollutants are also discussed.
