Abstract
Dispersion formulas are presented for the second hyperpolarizabilities of atoms relevant to the nonlinear optical processes (a) dc Kerr, (b) degenerate four-wave mixing, (c) electric-field-induced second-harmonic generation, and (d) third-harmonic generation. They are more comprehensive than previously published formulas and exact up to the second power in the optical frequency. Keywords
