Abstract
A fully automatic fused quartz dilatometer for operation in the temperature interval 25–700°C has been designed and built. Use of an unbonded strain gauge as the measurement transducer has resulted in a system of great simplicity, high precision, and very low cost. Details of the design and operation of the dilatometer are discussed.Keywords
