Abstract
Two hundred and twenty six Australian University students were given two administrations of the Bem Sex‐Role Inventory, yielding high test‐retest reliability scores. These results were then compared with Bem's American data. Both samples indicate the existence of a core of subjects who are Androgynous. A possible cultural difference with respect to the social desirability of the ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’ characteristics in the Inventory is discussed.
