Pyrope from Elie, Fife

Abstract
The garnets from a vent at Elie, Fife, have been collected and analysed. This analysis is compared with recent analyses of pyrope from, a number of other environments. On the basis of this comparison and the occurrence of the pyrope as xenocrysts in the vent agglomerate of Elie Ness Neck, a primary precipitate origin from a magma in depth is postulated.Keywords
