Abstract
Field experiments on 20 and 40 Gbit/s repeaterless transmission experiments are carried out for the first time. The authors successfully demonstrate repeaterless 198 km transmission at 20 and 40 Gbit/s using an installed dispersion-managed submarine cable. Keywords
