Scattering of Fast Neutrons in Pb and Ag

Abstract
The total cross section for neutron scattering in lead and silver has been measured using monoenergetic neutrons with energies which were varied from 12.9 to 16.2 Mev. The total cross section in silver becomes smaller as the energy is increased, while the cross section in lead is greater at the higher neutron energies. In the case of lead there appears to be a broad maximum in the cross section curve at a neutron energy of 16 Mev.
