Abstract
Electromagnetic resonance in a finite or semi-infinite slab is considered, and a number of new solutions are given; they are obtained by generalizations of the methods which have been used in the theory of the anomalous skin effect to cases where both the magnetic and electric susceptibilities are wave-number-dependent, and, together with solutions already in the literature, they are believed to exhaust the cases which can be solved exactly by presently known techniques. The same methods also yield formal solutions for transient-response problems. Some simple examples are discussed.
