Abstract
The design and construction of a 24 c Sr90-Y90 unit for whole-body superficial irradiation are described and the results of dosage measurements reported. The effective half-value thickness of the [beta]-ray beam is 2 mm. A dose of 200 rads can be delivered to an area 188 cm long by 53 cm wide in about 18 minutes. Shorter lengths of the body can be treated in correspondingly shorter times.Keywords
