Abstract
Measurements were made of the excretion of glucuronic acid and ethereal sulfate by rabbits dosed with pyridine, quinoline, and each of the monohydroxy derivatives. 3_Hydroxypyridine and 3-, 5-, 6., 7-and 8-hydroxyquinolines conjugate directly to form glucuronides which were isolated and characterized. 2- and 4_Quinolones are hydroxylated by the rabbit and excreted as quinolonylglucuronides which were isolated. The u.-v. absorption spectra of the glucuronides and their characteristic fluorescence in u.-v. light were recorded. Keywords
