Aortoiliac Steal — A Cause of Intestinal Ischemia

Abstract
THE third reported case of aortoiliac steal1 , 2 is presented to call attention to this potential complication of surgical correction of aortoiliac occlusion.A 54-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of gangrenous changes of the 3d, 4th and 5th toes of the left foot. Thirteen years previously lumbar sympathectomy had been performed because of a "cool left foot." One month before admission, claudication, involving the left lower extremity, had developed, followed shortly afterward by a nonhealing traumatic ulcer of the left calf and then by the gangrene of the toes noted above.There was no prior history of coronary . . .Keywords
